The current scenario is full of fears and uncertainty caused by the pandemic of COVID-19 (Corona Virus). Everyone has unanswered questions. When will the Corona Virus epidemic end? When will the lockdown be over? When will the schools and colleges re-open? When will the airlines open? When will we able to go to our workplaces again? When will this and when will that has made us helpless as we don’t have answers to any of these questions. But in the midst of all this chaos one thing is for sure, this will not remain forever.

One day this will end and we will be able to go back to our normal lives again. This pandemic has affected every area including business, education, tourism, and everywhere. Also, it is certain that when things will become normal, these areas will require more effort and strategies to maintain their pace. Subsequently, the education system will also start their regular activities but this time it will be quite difficult for both students and teachers to level the balance.

For this reason, many educational institutions have started to take online classes for continuing their course. Great teaching can happen anywhere, be it a classroom or home. All it requires is a good medium for communication. Conducting classes online can enable the flexibility of teaching and learning anywhere and at any time.

Online learning or distant learning has a wide scope and also carries quite a history as well. Back then, correspondence via email, journal sharing was common among university students. But now as per the demand of time, it has spread its wings to more areas such as audio and video assistance, real-time screen sharing, asking questions, which is similar to the classroom environment.

New technology brings new trend”, online teaching and learning is among one of those trends which have a high potential of changing the present teaching and learning methods. Indeed this current situation of the Pandemic of COVID-19 has added more importance to online teaching and learning. Although schools and colleges are closed, with the use of online teaching tools we can still continue to teach students. With the introduction of online education system, “Education for All” has started to expand everywhere.

Here are some online teaching and learning tools/ applications that can be easily used in Nepal:
