International Nepal Fellowship (Nepal)

International Nepal Fellowship is a service motive organization in Nepal. Established in 1995 AD, INF works in different areas to improve the quality of life. For instance, some of its working areas are; Agriculture and food security, Disability and Handicap, Human Trafficking, Sanitation and Hygiene, Disaster management, Environment and Climate Change, Health and HIV/AIDS, Livelihood and Rural and community development.

Not only in Pokhara, but also in many other districts, we can see the works and projects of INF for social welfare. INF has it operating branches alos in bajura, Banke, Dang, Gorkha, Jumla, Kalikot, Kapilbastu, Kaski, Mugu, Rolpa, and Surkhet.

Nepal Red Cross Society

Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) was established in 1963 A.D with the main motive to work for the welfare of people. In fact, it is affiliated with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

As well as that, Nepal Red Cross Society is one one of the largest humanitarian organization in Nepal, with its network in each of the 77 districts of the country.

Its primary objective is reducing human suffering without discrimination on grounds of religion, race, sex, class, caste, tribe, nationality, or political belief. Along with that, it works on blood transfusion service, community development, disaster management, earthquake response operation, and finance and resource management. To achieve its goals, the organization focuses on gender equality & social inclusion, general support and coordination, health services, humanitarian values, and communications.

A certain part of its activities is also carried by students and youth volunteers of the Nepal Junior Red cross and Youth Red Cross Circles. These circles are organized in schools, campuses, and communities.

SOS Children’s Village

SOS Children’s Village Pokhara was established in 1975 A.D. with the name – “SOS Emergency Hostel for Tibetan Children” with three dormitories for children. In 1978, the President of SOS Children’s Villages International, Dr. Hermann Gmeiner, with Mr. Helmut Kutin formally inaugurated the facility.

SOS Children’s Villages is an independent, non-governmental, nonprofit international development organization headquartered in Austria. Click here to know more about SOS.

The less-privileged and orphan children can get family-like care in the SOS Children’s villege from the SOS mothers. They build families for children in need, help them shape their futures, and they share in the development of children communities.

Kidasha

Kidasha is an INGO working in Pokhara for 20 years. It has offices in London and Pokhara, Nepal. The London office provides management and fundraising support for the organization. Whereas, the locally recruited staff in Pokhara execute the programs and activities.

Moreover, the major objective of the organization is to work for children’s rights. Kidasha works for the betterment of the street children and rescues child laborers. Along with that, it also works for the victims of child sex abuse and makes a better world for children living in slums.
